The Colagrossi Studio crew met up with the soon to be wed, Amber and Ryan. These two were troopers and braved the chilly winds. The lovely scenery of Concordia Seminary was a perfect background to an excellent afternoon of photos and love. Congrats guys.
Guess who’s super cute and getting married in April too?? Liz and Noah. Congratulations you two, we had a blast hanging out and photographing your engagements!
Having fun with double exposures!
This lovely hand woven shawl and cameo necklace were gifts given to Liz by Noah’s family. Don’t you just love the whole set together?

To find inspiration, some photographers do workshops, some watch you tube videos, some follow blogs…us at Colagrossi Studio and our friends at Della Terra Photo like to disappear into the moutains. After snagging an amazing Groupon for a secluded cabin in the North Carolina Smokies (score one for Tarah) the four of us packed up our gear and an amazing amout of craft beer and ciders and literally headed for the hills.
I highly recommend Hidden Creek Cabins, our beautiful farmhouse was more than we could have asked for and an A+ for secenery.
Our first visitor, a presumed stray we dubbed “Doug Dog.” We and other cabin dwellers took him under our wing for a bit 🙂
With a 30 degree difference between NC and home, we quickly took advantage of the wamth and set out for a morning hike along a small waterfall.
Shooting digitally can sometimes cause you to take photography – and photographs in general – for granted. Our primary focus for the trip was shooting film, but we still managed to get some digitals of our besties during our trip 🙂
Day two was even more beautiful than day one 🙂 So back outside we go.
Last but not least, the funny photo of the trip — Josh and Tarah caught in a bicker, Josh coping, and I’m egging them on lol!!
WE’RE GETTING MARRIED! Soon, actually. Being wedding photographers, we go into a 6-month spring-summer-fall hibernation where our lives are not our own, and our couples’ love stories take center-stage. April is an often overlooked wedding month and I guess in Indiana, its rightfully so. Some years April is a bright, warm, sunny month that lifts your spirits out of the long midwestern winters. Other times, its a cold, wet, dreary time of year.
Year after year, I reassure brides that rain on their wedding day is considered good luck…I must believe in it, because April 27th it is! We finally sat down and put together our wedding website with the immense help of Sitting in a Tree templates. Seriously. The easiest website I’ve ever put together. I highly recommend them 🙂
While we’ve chosen to have an intimate day with family and friends who are considered family, we have no problems sharing our trials and toils the next three months for those who are going through the same thing!
We have been blessed with some of the best vendors in the Fort Wayne area, and we plan to shamelessly plug their businesses as much as possible 🙂 Stay tuned for more wedding planning goodness, and check out our wedding website at http://www.thecolagrossis.com!
